This entry is part 2 of 4 in the series Video Guides & Tutorials

Step by Step guide on How to install WordPress on your Web Host example – HostGator, BlueHost, HostMonster etc using Fantastico.

WordPress can be installed in 2 ways : -

  1. Manual Method
  2. Automatic Method

Manual Method

It involves quite a lot of steps and it time consuming, knowledge of Databases, FTP and cPanel are required. One needs to be familiar with their Web Host and can choose their own username, password, database name etc.

  • Download WordPress from WordPress.org
  • Upload .zip file to FTP and extract the contents
  • Create Database and user to manage it.
  • Follow the WordPress 3 Step installation
  • Installation Complete

Automatic Method

It involves using Fantastico Installer available at most shared hosting providers. For this video, I have used the one provided by HostGator.

These days most hosting providers allow Fantastico installers, so it becomes very easy to installing wordpress. But some free web-hosts still make the users to go through the trouble of Manual Wp installation.
