Exactly how fast does Google index Webpages ?

How much time does it take for a newly created web page to appear in Google’s search index? Whenever I search for a keyword on Google I know the information I’ll find is a bit old, I am aware of the fact that Google will present me something which happened quite some time back, maybe even some years back.

Google

Google indexes the Web using its bots what we like to call spiders. As they one by one crawl the website and the interlinked pages indexing them neatly into Google’s ever growing database.

So, how long does Google take to index a new page

Well, no one knows the correct answer. The answer is when the spider finds you. Now that’s very tricky you see, if your site happens to be in the good books of Google, it’s going to be quick otherwise you may even have to wait for days, weeks, months or maybe NEVER!

Google is always refining its Search Algorithms

I found out how efficient and fast Google was recently when I published a post and was doing some ego-surfing when I came across the post I had just posted some time back.

There it was neatly indexed in Google’s heart and read 21 minutes when I found it. Who knows it might have been gobbled up in 5 mins or 10 mins. I don’t really know but the fact that Google indexed my post so quickly and was showing the time meant Google is upto something.

Its wonderful to see how powerful this Search Engine really is. Though, Twitter provides you with instant (1 Sec) results but Google’s work is on a very large scale. A 140 char tweet is nothing compared to a full blown article of around 500+ words.

Let’s hear it for Google!

It is hard to predict. But if you are updating your blog frequently then it can crawled your websites within 2-5 mins.
P.S: I’m not sure about it. It is just an observation from my past experience
