E75 Nokia Review

- Nokia E-75
These days owning a blackberry has become a status symbol, if you dont have one, people will look down upon you. Every businessman, IT professional or anyone worth his salt needs to postfix the signature :

Being able to check email from your smartphone surely is cool thing (smart too) but RIM (Research In Motion), the company behind Blackberry has taken this “Push Email” servie to new heights. And so, my dad wanted one too. I happened to find a few overpriced blackberry models which had QWERTY keypad and tiny cramped keys. I happened to notice Nokia E75 standing tall with a solid black body and a metal rear looking magnificent and just right.
A quick fiddle with the dummy model and I was sure dad would be pleased. So, the phone was well built, gave a nice solid feel and the keypad had good feedback. A 3.1MP Camera with autofocus and , red eye reduction and flash were more of honorary features as they are not much of a requirement in a business phone.
The E-Series tag was etched on the rear metal plate looked stunning, running a Symbian S60 3rd edition 9.3 version the menu was well laid out and Nokia E75 had everything one would need.
- Wifi
- 8GB MicroSD expansion card
- 3.2MP Autofocus Camera
- “Push Mail” through Nokia Messenger App
- Mobile Office
- Sliding QWERTY keypad
- Regular Keypad
- 3.5mm Headphone jack
- Accelerometer
- 3G, HSDPA, Edge, GPRS
- Assisted GPS, Nokia Maps
- Bluetooth, USB connectivity
All this as a sweet price tag of Rs.22,500 was a reasonable good deal compared to Blackberry handsets which were low on features in the same price range. The screen being large and crisp was a delight to watch and faired well even in the sunlight.
The One-Touch keys were quick to use allowing access to – Calender, Email, Todo, Cancel buttons. One could activate the sensors to silence a call bu just turning the phone over or by taping it gently. I tried it out and worked like a charm. The bundeled headphones were also good, played some MP3 tracks in the Media Player and the sound quality was good enough.
i did notice a little lag at some places notably the Camera and while bringing back the minimized applications. Its not much of a shortcoming and considering it is not a N-series phone this can be easily overlooked.
I really liked the Nokia E-75 and after setting up the Email through IMAP in a couple of minutes dad was able to view, reply and download attachements from the phone itself. The interface of the Nokia’s email messenger application is nice and smooth. Better than that of Gmail’s actually. It does clearly show the effort put by Nokia in their redesigned E-Series phones and is worth a mention.
To Sum Up this E75 Nokia Review:
In the price of E75 you get a superb phone with both normal and QWERTY keypad and a whole lot of connectivity options plus some nice storage capacity. What more could you ask from a business phone. Its got everything you may or may not need.
