I finally purchased Blackberry 9300 and I must say its worth it.
Its way better than Nokia.
Nokia is jack of all but master of none. BB rocks anytime!!

Hi, am using the mobiles for a decade…first started with samsung SGH-1000 series and moved out to nokia’s of all types….i have handled nearly 40 mobiles of all brands in the last decade…am currently with N900 and BB 8520…

What i’d say is the data plan, speaks…With 399 or 899 data plan, BB 8520 seems amazing… on the other hand, w/o data plans, N900 with airtel mobile office is cool and handy and seems to be better than BB’s…

the only disadvantage of BB’s, being corp gadget, is the expensive data plans and tedious activation process

With regards to your question, Blackberry has EDGE plans. Its NOT GPRS.
EDGE prepaid plans are like Rs.399 for unlimited internet access while PostPaid is Rs.599 for unlimited internet access.

I am using the postpaid plan it i use Twitter, Facebook applications with Push Email 24X7. I don’t need to be worried about crossing data limits or anything. No other platform and device has unlimited internet access without any Fair Usage Policy (FUP) like Blackberry does.

The devices communicate over operator network but the servers are of Blackberry. The speeds are good in 2G for email,chat and applications. Browsing has never been a strong point on the Blackberries and I rarely use it. It has native Gtalk and Yahoo, MSN clients which work better and faster than nimbuzz.

I am really interested in Blackberry.
I was also in same dilema whether to go for Blackberry or Nokia E series
I love to stay connected, but at same time, didnt feel wise to spend Rs 299 just for mail and chat (plus not browsing)
While Loop GPRS offers internet for Rs 49 (175mb free) but thats enuf as I can chat wenever i want and my email syn interval is 20 minutes which is fine.

Also if you compare GPRS class of Blackberry and Nokia , Nokia has GPRS class 32 where as Blackberry has GPRS class 10, I am not sure if thats reason that Nokia browsing is faster than Blackberry’s
Does blackberry has its own edge network with the service provider or it uses 2g/3g network for data transfer?

I own Nokia E52 at the moment.
I am Using nimbuzz, though it keeps crashing sometimes or doesnt have feature to reconnect, its a treat to use till it is connected.

Tata Docomo is not available in all states. In Delhi for example we don’t have Docomo signal

Tata Docomo is offering Blackberry Unlimited Internet for Rs 499/- only.
But worried about its poor network.

Hmmm. Don’t know about your country but even in India, blackberry plans are expensive. However, I use this prosumer light plan which only allows blackberry email and IM.

Gets my work done. I just don’t have Internet access from browser and third party apps. Only mail and IM.

I Really really Appreciate your reply to me
I am Serious thinking About BB
But guess what
i am Egyptian
and the packages For the BB is Very Very Expensive it took me 5 Pounds Per Day To use the BB Messenger, the Push Mail and the internet
So i think E 75 Would be Fine

But i Want to Ask you About it
how was it with you?
Problems or something Like That
Any Problems you faced with it
Coz i am afraid of it’s Problem coz the Multifunction Phone is usually has Many Problem

Hi Ahmed

If you are an internet guy, go for a Blackberry. If email, chatting, twitter and staying connected the quick and fastest way is what is important to you, get yourself a blackberry. No fuss and no nonsense devices that let you do your thing.

Get Nokia if you are a multimedia guy with focus on images, videos, themes and animating icons rather than Email and stuff. If the MegaPixlel of your Camera is more important to you than a QWERTY then you know where to look.

Its just a matter of preference. I am an out and out blackberry guy for I live on my email. Period. If you need multimedia only, nothing beats on iPhone.
